Loft Bed with Desk & Bookcases
I built this double bed size loft bed with desk and bookcases for my grandson. It is made of maple and uses various hardware bought from Rockler. It was based on a picture in a furniture catalog.

Dogwood Box
I made this box for my wife for our 12th wedding anniversary this year.  The box is primarily Flowering Dogwood.  The diamond-shaped inlay on the front panel is Ancient Kauri wood with the wood cut to maximize the chatoyancy.  The corners were all secured by a thin bar of Dogwood running the complete length of the vertical.  The two little metal buttons (seen on each corner on the front vertical panel) are rare earth magnets that were counter-sunk.  They connect to two counter-sunk screws on the corners of the underside of the lid and those screws were hidden from view with light wood putty.  Brass turned feet raise it off the bottom just enough to add a touch of class to the box.  The wood was sanded to 2000 grit, then several thin coats of polyurethane was added to protect the wood.  The lid and base were made by gluing two pieces together.  The sides are individual pieces of dogwood.  The Dogwood was special because it was reclaimed from my property in North Carolina.  The features on the wood include some nice spalting and ray flakes, as well as some repeating knots.   The box is 8 3/4" wide, 4 3/4" tall, and 7 1/2" front-to-back.

Turned Vase
Below is my latest turning project.  I made this for my wife because she is always complaining I make things for everyone but her.  I used Cherry, Wenge, Maple, Padauk.  This is the largest vase I have ever made and is the largest I can make until I get a bigger lathe!!
